🐾 Moving to Hawaii with Pets: What You Need to Know

🐾 Hawaii’s Animal Quarantine Program (AQS)
Hawaii is a rabies-free state, which means pets must meet certain requirements before entering the islands. Here’s a quick overview:
To qualify for Direct Airport Release (DAR) or the 5-Day-or-Less Program:
✅ Pets must have 2 rabies vaccinations (given more than 30 days apart, and the second given at least 30 days before arrival).
✅ A passing OIE-FAVN rabies antibody test must be done 120+ days before arrival.
✅ Pets must have a microchip implanted before the FAVN test.
✅ Submit all paperwork and fees 10 days before arrival in Hawaii.
📋 Missing any of these? Your pet may be subject to a 120-day quarantine upon arrival.
